Common Questions
What is the license renewal period? Are there continuing education requirements to keep my license?
45 hours of post-licensing education is required during the first renewal period for a
Florida real estate
sales associates license (18-24 months after passing the state exam). Subsequently, your license must be renewed every 2 years by completing
14 hours of continuing
education. You can maintain an active or voluntary inactive license for life.
What can I do with a real estate sales associates license?
You can be involved in the listing and selling of residential, commercial, industrial property, land, business opportunities, and time-shares. You can also rent and manage real property.
What are the requirements for getting a real estate broker
license?
You must have held an active real estate sales associates license for at least 12 months within the past 5 year period. You must have completed and passed the required 45-Hour Post-Licensing course. You must take and pass the
Florida real estate broker state examination.
What can I do with a real estate broker license?
As a broker, you can be the owner or part owner of a real estate brokerage company. Sales associates would place their licenses with your company. Or, you may continue to work for a broker, as before, and you would have a
broker-sales associate license.
Do you have a money back guarantee if I
should fail the end-of-course-exam?
No. It is not allowed by
Florida Statutes 475.451 & 475.4511 and by the
rules in Chapter
61-J2.013 of the Florida Real Estate Commission.
